In line with the company’s efforts to support the Kingdom’s sports
sector and its desire to be present at important sports forums representing the
Kingdom of Bahrain, Batelco chartered a plane to transport fans to the opening
match of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. The opening match between the Bahraini
National Team and the UAE National Team took place on Saturday 5th
of January in Zayed Sports Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Batelco's chairman, Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, was
keen to attend the match and travel on the plane that transported the fans, to
provide support for the team and confirm Batelco's commitment to supporting the
national team in such an important game at national level.
The atmosphere of the trip was characterized by enthusiasm and
high spirits. The well-known Bahraini singer Flipperachi joined the fans
onboard and shared with them his latest song produced by Batelco for the
occasion of the National Team’s participation at the Asian Cup.
Batelco, as a National Company, has continuously supported a wide
range of youth and sports events in line with its CSR strategy. Keen on
championing the national team and supporting sporting initiatives on a local,
regional and international level, Batelco’s initiative comes in line with the
