Nesma acquires global project management expert Kent

Saudi-based Nesma & Partners Contracting Company has announced that it has successfully completed the acquisition of Kent, a renowned global leader in engineering and project management within the energy sector.

This strategic move aligns with Nesma & Partners' growth strategy and positions the company for even greater success in the years ahead, said a statement from Nesma.

Kent is a privately owned international integrated energy services partner backed by Bluewater. Founded in 1919 as a small family company in Ireland, Kent is now a 13,000-strong client-centric global business.

It delivers sustainable and innovative engineering services and project delivery solutions for the oil and gas, chemical, renewables, and low-carbon industries across six continents.

"The acquisition of Kent represents a significant milestone for Nesma & Partners, reinforcing our commitment to expanding our capabilities and enhancing our position in the global market," said Samer Abdul Samad, the President & CEO of Nesma & Partners.

"Both organizations' shared expertise and resources will enable them to deliver an even broader range of innovative solutions and services to our clients," he noted.

Under this arrangement, Kent will continue to operate as a stand-alone entity, upholding the same level of excellence and dedication that has defined the company. However, Samad will be joining Kent’s board of directors, while Malcolm Fallen will continue as the chairman.

"Under the ownership of Nesma & Partners, Kent is positioned and resourced to accelerate the delivery of its ambitious strategy and double down on its efforts to address the challenges and opportunities of the global energy transition," remarked its CEO John Gilley.

The Saudi group said no major changes will be made to Kent's structure or core service offerings.

However, some of the old shareholders' representatives in the Kent's Board of Directors will be replaced with new non-executive subject matter experts at a later stage, thus enhancing further collaboration and driving alignment between both organizations, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
