Mawani wins key ISO certification for compliance management

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has been recognized with the ISO certificate (ISO 37301) for adhering to all international standards of compliance management systems and demonstrating full commitment to the related procedures. 
 
Mawani had previously received ISO certifications in the fields of information security (ISO 27001), quality management and efficiency (ISO 9001), risk management and business continuity (ISO 31000 and ISO 22301), in addition to a qualification certificate from the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). 
 
With this win, Mawani has become the first entity in the kingdom to receive the ISO 3730 certificate from an accredited body.
 
This accomplishment reflects Mawani’s dedication to complying with the legal and regulatory requirements of relevant national and international legislative bodies, said the company in a statement. 
 
It also reaffirms their vision to uphold the highest compliance standards in executing their operations, aiming to enhance quality and efficiency in the ports sector in alignment with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS), thereby strengthening the kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub bridging the three continents.
 
The Compliance Management System (ISO 37301) comprises a suite of interconnected processes aimed at ensuring Mawani’s compliance with laws, regulations, and ethical standards, achieving full compliance with legal, ethical, and professional requirements related to Mawani’s activities, enhancing its reputation, and increasing trust from investors and beneficiaries of its services, said the statement.
 
This key accreditation underscores Mawani’s consistent achievement of its strategic objectives, the establishment of successful partnership relationships with global companies specialized in port operations, and the enhancement of mutual trust between them and all its clients, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
